Some pieces fuse East and West. The “Palace Garniture” vases and lamps are based on an 18th -century blue and white Chinese export porcelain garniture (a set of vases for a chimneypiece or cabinet) displayed in the Governor’s Palace in Williamsburg, Virginia. A 1770 inventory of furnishings in the Palace listed “56 pieces of ornamental china,” which likely included such Chinese porcelain made for European markets. Global Views has given the handsome shapes a smart update with a soft matte white finish that suits classic or contemporary interiors.
